That looks like my perfect day... if only we'd get real snow in my Oregon Valley!

Oh Kate, it looks like you've had a wonderful day. We don't get snow where I live, and I would love a white Christmas. Those cookies looks especially nice!

Great pictures. Can I use the second winter picture, the one with the lake for my winter screen saver?
Thanks

What gorgeous photos -- and delightful looking cookies!

Agreed!
Are you willing to share the cookie recipe?? :)

Thanks, everyone. Yesterday was great. We got about 6" of snow by the end of the day. Still gorgeous this morning with crystal clear air and the stillness of a Sunday morning.

The cookies are called chocolate crinkle cookies. I'll post the recipe I use for them soon, but there are plenty of versions if you just google the name of the cookie.

Barbara, feel free, and I'm flattered.

Snow here, too, but we didn't enjoy it quite as much as you appeared to ... not that we didn't enjoy it. We just didn't get any hot chocolate ... or yummy-looking chocolate cookies ... and we haven't cut the tree, yet, as I still need to clear its spot ;).

Catherine, welcome and nice to "meet" you too.

Colleen, thanks. My mom made it for me years ago. Fortunately, it's grown on my husband.

Jaz, I'm sure you'll get some of your own fairly soon.

Wendy, this is probably the earliest we've ever put up the tree. That snowfall just seemed to demand that we go and cut the tree right then.

The snow looks so beautiful. We're gearing up for a hot Christmas down in Australia though, so no hot chocolate for us but maybe some icy cold punch. And those cookies look delicious!

Oops, the above comment was left by me, but I was signed in as my husband. Sorry!

Cat, Jason, whoever you are, welcome to my bit of the blogosphere. Although I've known for a long time that you Aussies are always on the season opposite our own, I really have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of Christmas in the middle of summer. I just can't seem to make that compute! Do you have different Christmas carols than we do? Half of ours (at least) talk about snow. In any case, I hope your holiday is a lovely one.
